Stay at Nystadnesstua
Nystadnesstua is a log cabin built between 1915 and 1917 at Nystadnes, but the cabin itself dates back to around 1890. The cabin was donated to Nordland National Park Centre by Finn Martin Nystadnes in 2004. With valuable help from Saltdal Turlag and Bodø & Omegns Turistforening, the cabin was restored and relocated to Roparneset at the national park centre in Saltdal, opening in the summer of 2007. Nystadnesstua, along with the Sámi huts, is used in our presentation about settlement in the national parks.
The cabin has 8 beds. Bed linen is not provided, so guests must bring a sleeping bag, bed liner, or their own bedding. There is gas for cooking and a wood stove for heating. Firewood is available in the shed near the cabin, and the outdoor toilet is located at the edge of the forest behind the shed.
The cabin is part of the Norwegian Trekking Organisastions trail network (DNT). Marked trails lead from Nystadnesstua both north towards the Sulitjelma mountains and south towards Saltfjellet.
